In 1994, sublime had 300 skateboards made by "Basic International" (Basic Skateboards) for a "Skunk Records" contest. The 300 were divided into 3 colors: 100 Blue, 100 Red, 100 Clear. (Thank you to Reid Clow for confirming this information with the old Basic staff) These promo skateboards were never sold. Rather, they were given away in contests, to local record stores & to friends. These are incredibly hard to find, unbelievably RARE & if you do see one for sale, expect to pay around $700.00 for it. Amazingly RARE... the tops of EACH deck vary in color.
A buddy of mine, Steve, made these. The "EUTS" Deck & The "Tattoo" skate decks were made for MCA/Gasoline Alley & there were only 100 of them made! They were used for promotion when the "EUTS" Box Set came out & were given to select (LUCKY) customers when they purchased the Box Set..... A raffle of sorts was held. Also, some were given away via Radio Station contests. Produced in a VERY Low number, these are incredibly hard to find today. Grab one if you see it, they don't come around often.
These "Long Beach Map" decks are EXTREMELY Hard to Find. Said to have been only 100 made, these ones just seem to allude even the most hardcore collector. When they were released as Promos, most people in the industry snatched em up real quick so that left little to be able to reach the open market. Keep an eye on eBay for this guy & if you see it, GRAB IT! You probably won't see another one.
These "Self Titled" Skateboards were made in VERY limited numbers and were essentially "Promotional" give-away items from sublime's label. These RARE "RED" & "CLEAR" versions were made around the time that sublime's "S/T" started to really blow up, these were passed out by the public relations people at the label to their favorite clients; i.e. People who played the shit out of the "S/T" album, to be used how they wished. Most were given away via a radio contest or in store promo & it's said that there were only a handful of these made. Crazy RARE! Do not Skate it if you have one & if you get your hands on one, hang onto it!
